The ISM PR4.0 Saddle is a completely redesigned model, delivering enhanced comfort and support for long-distance riding. This wide bike saddle is longer and broader than other PR models, while maintaining the signature comfort ISM saddles are known for, thanks to the 60-series foam and gel padding.
At 150 mm wide, the PR4.0 is the widest performance saddle in the ISM range. Extra padding at the sit bones improves weight distribution, while the full-length central relief channel reduces pressure on the perineum and promotes healthy blood flow. The signature noseless design helps prevent numbness and discomfort, making it an ideal choice for extended rides.
The ISM PR4.0 is perfect for endurance cycling, gravel riding, commuting, and recreational use.

ISM Bicycle Saddles
ISM saddles stand out significantly from traditional bicycle saddles due to their unique design and ergonomic benefits. Instead of a rounded shape, ISM saddles are designed to be flat, allowing you, as a cyclist, to sit more “on” the saddle rather than in it. This results in a different distribution of pressure on the sit bones and increases comfort while cycling.
Due to this specific shape, an ISM saddle also requires a different adjustment. The saddle is typically mounted about 1 cm lower than a standard bike saddle, because you sit on top of the saddle. In addition, the saddle is positioned 5 to 8 cm further back. This is because ISM saddles have a nose-less design, while maintaining the required length to comply with UCI and U.S. regulations. A practical guideline: if you have two fingers’ worth of space behind you on the saddle, it’s adjusted correctly.
ISM saddles are used worldwide by both recreational cyclists and elite athletes. At the Ironman World Championship in Kona, ISM has been the most popular saddle brand among triathletes for years, thanks to its proven combination of comfort and performance.
Less Saddle Soreness with ISM
Saddle soreness is a common problem among cyclists and can significantly limit performance and enjoyment. Where many traditional saddles fall short, ISM offers an effective solution. The name ISM stands for Ideal Saddle Modification: a fresh take on the bicycle saddle.
The patented open-front design reduces pressure on the perineum and promotes blood circulation. This significantly reduces the risk of numbness and discomfort, resulting in a healthier and more comfortable cycling experience.

How long should my first ride be?
It is wise to let the first ride be shorter than usual. Build up this distance slowly. Because it is a different saddle than a conventional saddle, the body will have to get used to it first.
What should I do when ISM feels too wide?
If this is the case, it is recommended that you move the saddle slightly backwards. It could also be that the saddle is too high, in this case lower the saddle step by step.
What if my saddle can't go further back?
This is where people sometimes run into problems. What needs to be done. This requires a setback-style seatpost, some bikes have a double-sided option. The setback position is often used here with ISM saddles.
What should I do if I still have problems?
